ChatGPT Faces Rising Mental Health Concerns Among Users: OpenAI revealed that more than a million ChatGPT users each week show signs of suicidal intent or severe emotional attachment in conversations with the chatbot, with hundreds of thousands more exhibiting psychosis or manic behavior. The company says it has consulted over 170 clinicians and improved how GPT-5 responds to mental health crises, but admits challenges persist, especially in longer interactions.
