Musk vs. Altman: AI Power Fight Goes to Trial: Elon Musk and Sam Altman are officially heading into a messy courtroom battle over what OpenAI was supposed to be versus what it became. Musk claims he helped fund the company as a nonprofit meant to protect humanity, only for it to quietly pivot into a massive money-making machine behind his back. OpenAI is basically calling that nonsense and framing it as Musk being bitter while trying to boost his own competing company.
Now the case is less about a clean payout and more about control, credibility and who the jury actually believes when these two take the stand. The outcome could ripple way beyond just them, potentially shifting how power is handled in the entire AI industry. At its core, this isn’t just a lawsuit, it’s a clash over the future of AI and whether it’s being built for profit, control or something bigger.
AI Reconstructs Face of Man Killed in Pompeii Eruption: Scientists used AI to rebuild the face of a man who died during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, capturing what may have been his final attempt to escape. He was found holding a bowl over his head to protect himself, along with small personal items that give a glimpse into his last moments. The reconstruction turns archaeological data into a realistic human image, making the story feel far more immediate. It’s a new way researchers are bringing historical events to life.
AI Table Tennis Robot Beats Human Players: Sony’s AI-powered table tennis robot, Ace, is now beating high-level human players in real matches, not simulations. It uses high-speed cameras and self-trained strategies to react faster than humans and play in ways that are difficult to predict. Even experienced players said it’s tough to read because it gives off zero cues, which makes it feel completely different from playing a person.
