Gemini is now on your Mac: Google just launched a native Gemini app for macOS, making it accessible with a quick shortcut so you can use AI without switching tabs. It can see what’s on your screen, summarize content, help with files, and even generate images or videos while you’re working. This is a push toward AI living inside your workflow, not in a separate tab, making it faster and more natural to use throughout your day.

NVIDIA Is Pushing Quantum Computing Forward With Open AI Models: NVIDIA just dropped its new “Ising” models, a set of open-source AI tools designed to solve some of the biggest problems holding quantum computing back, like error correction and system calibration. In simple terms, they’re using AI to make fragile quantum machines more stable, faster, and actually usable at scale. This is a big step toward making quantum computing practical, and NVIDIA is betting that open models will speed up progress across research labs, universities, and enterprise teams building the next generation of computing.

Allbirds pivots to AI: Allbirds just announced it’s moving away from shoes and into AI infrastructure, rebranding as NewBird AI and planning to invest in high-performance compute hardware. The market reacted fast, with the stock jumping over 700% as the company leans into the AI boom after struggling retail sales. This is another signal of where attention and money are flowing right now, but it also shows not every AI pivot is about innovation, some are about survival.

Claude launches routines

Claude Code rolled out “routines,” and it’s exactly what people have been trying to piece together manually. You set up a task once with a prompt, and it runs on its own. On a schedule, from an API, or when something happens like a new PR or alert. It doesn’t rely on your laptop either. It runs in the cloud.

What it actually does:

  • Runs tasks automatically (nightly, weekly, etc.)

  • Kicks off when something happens (deploys, PRs, alerts)

  • Connects to your tools and repos

  • Handles repeatable work without you re-prompting every time

Why this matters:

Most people are still opening ChatGPT or Claude and asking it questions. This is different. This is assigning AI a job and letting it handle it in the background. That’s where you start buying back time and actually building systems, not just speeding up tasks.

That’s a Wrap for Today 👋
