The platform is also experimenting with multilingual thumbnails, giving creators another way to connect with viewers worldwide.

AI Companion App Dot to Shut Down: Dot, an AI chatbot designed to act as a personal friend and confidante, will officially shut down on October 5, giving users time to retrieve their data. Launched in 2024 by Sam Whitmore and ex-Apple designer Jason Yuan, the app promised emotional support and personalized conversations but comes at a time when AI companions face growing scrutiny over mental health risks. The founders cited diverging visions as the reason for closing, though the wider debate over chatbot safety continues to intensify.
