Tim Cook Rallies Apple: "We Must Win in AI": In a recent all-hands meeting, Apple CEO Tim Cook made it clear that dominating AI isn’t optional it’s essential. Acknowledging delays in Siri’s upgrades and Apple’s late start in the AI race, Cook reminded employees that Apple has never needed to be first to redefine a category. With plans to ramp up AI investments, he declared, “Apple must do this… this is ours to grab.”
Google’s Gemini 2.5 Deep Think Enters the AI Arena and It’s Bringing Backup: Google just dropped Gemini 2.5 Deep Think, its most advanced AI reasoning model yet, capable of tackling complex problems by running multiple AI agents in parallel. Debuting first to $250/month Ultra subscribers, the model has already earned bragging rights including a gold medal at the International Math Olympiad and top scores on competitive coding benchmarks. While powerful and resource-heavy, Deep Think signals Google’s bet on multi-agent systems as the next leap in AI, though for now, only premium users and select researchers will get a taste.
Claude vs. ChatGPT: Anthropic Shuts the Door on OpenAI: Anthropic has officially cut OpenAI’s access to its Claude AI models, citing violations of its terms of service namely, using Claude to test and compare performance ahead of GPT-5’s launch. While Anthropic will still allow limited access for benchmarking and safety checks, the company made it clear that helping competitors build rival tools is a no-go. OpenAI called its usage “industry standard,” but Anthropic’s move highlights growing tension (and secrecy) in the race for AI dominance.

AI Is Reshaping the Job Market

Generative AI is no longer just a buzzword; it is now a top driver of job cuts. In July alone, over 10,000 layoffs were attributed to AI adoption, placing it among the top five reasons for job losses this year, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas. Since 2023, more than 27,000 job cuts have been directly tied to AI, with the tech industry leading the charge. Entry-level roles are shrinking as well. Job listings for recent grads have dropped 15 percent, while mentions of “AI” in job descriptions have surged 400%. The message is clear: AI is not just changing how we work, it is changing who gets hired.

The New Face of Fashion
The fashion world is having its Black Mirror moment and models aren’t loving it. What started with Levi’s teaming up with Lalaland.ai to generate “diverse” digital models has turned into a full-blown identity crisis, with AI-generated beauties now gracing the pages of Vogue. Human models like Sarah Murray are sounding the alarm: real diversity is being replaced by pixel-perfect replicas, and the job market is vanishing behind a ring light and a rendering. Brands love the cost savings, fewer flights, fittings, and freelancers, but critics are calling it “robot cultural appropriation.” AI models don’t just wear the clothes; they’re now shaping the conversation, all while human talent gets edited out. And though the industry insists it’s just experimenting, the silent shift is becoming very loud especially when Vogue gives it a glossy stamp of approval.
